Sticking with the slo-mo underwater theme, here’s another excellent example of a non-label-produced music video featuring Archive’s “You Make Me Feel”:

The Music: The overdriven bassline oscillating between two notes next to the vocalist’s lilting and enchanting tonage is what really makes this track (and makes it fit so well with video shot underwater). If I didn’t know any better I’d think this was a Massive Attack or Portishead track, though naturally I do know better- Mezzanine was released a year before this track was, in 1998, while Portis’ Dummy debuted in ’94. All three groups, though, are pillars of the ’90s U.K. trip-hop scene, which as far as I’m concerned was an explosion of jammin’ beats we’re still recovering from.
The Video: Guillaume Nery is a world champion
freediver, which is a sport that makes BMX biking inside an active volcano look like a bunch of Girl Scouts playing pick-up sticks in the buy viagra online without a prescription library. And before you start crying about phonies, no, he didn’t get to the bottom of that hole (Specifically, Dean’s Blue Hole, in the Bahamas- here, edumacate yo’self.) on a single breath. It’s the magic of cinema, people, don’t get all snooty on me. Besides, I’d bet that a
few of you couldn’t even make it to the bottom of your own bathtubs without a snorkel. So there.

I can't even begin to choose the element of Christina Aguilera's rendition of the National Anthem that incited more derision and contempt amongst the audience of Super Bowl XLV.
